We also unlocked and enhanced the asset management tools previously found in the old underground infrastructure modules. Now you can track condition, assess your risks, track projects, and create prioritized budgets for any class of assets including pavement, signals, lights, gas, electric, and facility equipment of all kinds. VUEWorks 2009 also delivers features that make it easier than ever to connect with SCADA and other systems through the enhanced ODBC compliant Data Link features. With the data in place you can use it to trigger Work Orders automatically from SCADA data.

Usibility
VUEWorks is a web-based product that has the look and feel of a desktop application. In this vein, VUEWorks truly strikes the balance between the convenience of deploying over the network and the depth and richness of desktop applications.

Users often comment how much easier the software is to use because the VUEWorks User Interface (UI) adapts to the different roles that users have in utilizing the application. For instance a typical user will only see the features that are relevant to the specific job function without cluttering the interface with non applicable functions. The system Administrator will have access to all features in this application.

VUEWorks has been deployed in the field by many organizations using wireless cards from cell phone companies. This is a great advantage over desktop applications that require scaled down PDA software and the complexities of synchronizing data when they return. With VUEWorks, field staff have real time access to the full functionality of Service Calls and Work Orders as well as linked data and documents all stored back at the office. This saves time as they can read and update information while in the field without the need to drive back to the office.
